Running our first course from the new campus at Ta’ Qali proved to be a great success.
Having just undergone refurbishment, the upstairs area of the gym provided us with ample space and equipment to deliver the practical course from. With future plans to invest on the lower floor, we’re really looking forward to running many more courses at 24/7 Fitness.
Changing the gym location also gave us the opportunity to use the Ta’ Qali national park for the outdoor training sessions. We made the most of the spring sunshine to hold the kettlebell instructor course morning sessions outdoors and later on in the week, PT padwork and Bootcamp Instructor. It was great to see and hear the battle rope slammed out in the open!
These sessions have grown to become a core component of the practical courses that we run in Spain. It gives students ideas and an experience of running PT sessions out of the gym environment - something many will do when they graduate. The bootcamp course also gives our students another practical opportunity to instruct some of the new skills learned on the various fitness courses they have attended as part of Master Personal Training Diploma (suspension training, kettlebells, padwork, PHA training, circuits etc). With this addition in place, the practical course timetable is now identical across all three campus sites.
If you have previously attended any of our PT Diplomas in Malta and did not receive the bootcamp instructor training sessions, you’re welcome to join us on any of our future bootcamp practical sessions at Ta’ Qali free of charge.
Just get in touch with Toby beforehand to book a place on one of the practical courses.
The April crew brought with them a fantastic energy and hard work ethic to their training. The two weeks passed so quickly and luckily we have some amazing hi-resolution shots taken on the course by local photographer, Ron Kerr who was invited to capture some of the action for us. Thanks to Ron, we now have some awesome course photos that we’ll be using across our online media.
The EPTI style of personal training diploma course is still unique across Europe and when compared to alternative courses available in Malta, even more so! The level of practical training far outweighs anything else being offered by course providers offering the “same” qualification. The exam board certificate might be the same, but the practical training and the confidence students derive from it, is anything but!
As a result, the next practical course in Malta this October is already 95% sold out! It’s going to be our biggest course yet and we’re going to bring even more tutors over to help run it!
So if you’re in Malta and want to train to become a personal trainer, there’s no need to stress if you miss the next course as we’ve added an additional course date to our Spring 2019 schedule. We’ll now be running courses at Ta’ Qali in both February and May 2019.
The EPTI team love travelling to Malta to deliver the practical courses. This course proved no exception and it mostly followed the same pattern as our previous trips there...
- rental of a micro sized car from the airport (luckily with all body parts intact this time) ✅
- the compulsory grocery shop at Lidls (using the empty cardboard boxes for transport) ✅
- packed lunches consisting of a wrap, sized fractionally smaller than the sun ✅
- a visit to Shoreditch ✅
- a visit to Hugos ✅
- saying “Mela” in all conversations, even after we’ve returned home!
As we’re now Malta tourist veterans, this time we were able to resist the pastizzi treats that seem to be in front of you day and night... maybe we’ve actually tried everything there is to try now, (although you can never have enough pastizzi tal-piżelli) , or more probably, boarding in Rabat for this trip, instead of St. Juliens/ Paceville or Bugibba, there was less temptation put our way!
Dénia Campus, Spain - May
As ever, our students travelled from all over Europe...and also from much further afield... the Middle East, China, India & even Mauritius! to join us for our residential course in Dénia. The EPTI movement and reputation really is spreading worldwide!
With the three previous practical courses in Spain interrupted slightly by a wetter than normal winter... it was great to have normal service resumed with the typical Spanish spring sunshine, allowing us to make the most of what the Dénia campus has to offer, namely the outdoor training environments of Dénia athletics stadium (circuit training) and Las Marinas beach (kettlebells, pt padwork and bootcamp)
This course didn’t disappoint - in addition to some superb learning done in the classroom and gym, we were able to make the most of the outdoor group training and bootcamp sessions, with the additional advantage of the Oasis Hotel beach bar welcoming our students for much needed refreshments!
We also welcomed a new “client” to our evening student PT Clinic sessions... our very own 16 year old teenage daughter was put through her paces, not once, but on two separate evenings...receiving her first ever PT sessions from students as part of their practical learning.
School’s out for summer!
The practical courses are now on pause until after the summer. The courses in Dénia and Malta, in September and October respectively, are both 95% sold out. We do have spaces available on the later courses in Spain, in late October at Estepona; and in November at Dénia.
Does this mean that the EPTI team is going to do nothing for the next couple of months?.... absolutely not!! (although we do plan on taking a well deserved vacation! )
We’ve already began writing the Active IQ level 4 ( level 5 in Europe) Personal Training Certificate which will hopefully be ready for students to enrol on this autumn.
I can’t give you too many details about the course at the stage, but I can confirm that it will be completely online, not requiring students to attend a face to face practical course and will only be available to personal trainers that are already qualified and have worked with clients for at least six months. You'll also have to be computer literate with current IT skills to complete the course.
As ever, we wish to thank all of you that have referred us to people you know that are looking to become qualified fitness professionals.
Our Facebook timeline is filled with EPTI Personal Training success stories, on a daily basis we see the great work that our graduates are doing worldwide - so keep on inspiring and doing what you love doing and please keep in touch!
